Why I Care About CounterAct Tobacco

June 30, 2022

Hello my name is Kylie Gray, I am a sophomore student at Wynnewood High school. I joined the YAHL program starting this year. I care about CounterAct Tobacco because a lot of youth are getting access to nicotine and tobacco products.

Oklahoma needs strong policies to keep nicotine and tobacco products away from youth. YAHL has taught me a lot about why CounterAct Tobacco is so important, and why we should care about it. People need to support the policy changes that CounterAct Tobacco is trying to make, because these changes are important to Oklahoma and its youth.

The CounterAct Tobacco campaign works on taking the pressure off of the targeted youth, and back on to Big Tobacco. I became involved with CounterAct Tobacco and YAHL because of leadership training. I care about CounterAct Tobacco because a lot of students I know have access to tobacco and nicotine products. I learned a lot from this program, and I really encourage any one who is interested to join this program.
